When an amateur fight team dismiss's a certified, licensed cage medic saying they have one of their own, they should at least be sure they are adequately trained and prepared. We really don’t mind stepping back and letting a team medic tend to their fighter! We will even assist if you desire! We had a medic dismissed for a couple of bouts at a recent event because the fight team said they had a medic of their own. Their fighter didn’t even get greased before the fight and got cut bad right off the bat! That injury could have been prevented! In fact most injuries can be avoided with a little preventative maintenance! They didn’t have anything but a water bottle and a towel! That might be fine for a ju-jitsu match, but be a little more prepared when you come to an all out MMA match! It’s as real as it get’s! All I’m saying is at least be prepared for the basics. Several times I’ve seen other so called “Cutmen” with a noswell and an ice pack in the bottom of a dry bucket with no ice! Unopened jar of Vaseline! These fighters are your best friends and sometimes they are your family as in my case! For all they lay on the line, they deserve the best care in the world! Those EMT’s are not going to run up there with a cold towel, ice pack, a noswell or even grease for the next round! They are not going to call an injured fighter and follow up to see how they are doing the next day! We will if desired! This is what Corner-Tech is here for! Fighter safety and Fighter care! Before and after the fight! The importance of wrapping hands correctly is also a must! Poorly wrapped hand’s are not only a waste of material but can endanger a fighters most important tool’s! It is in everybody’s best interest to see you guy’s continue fighting! Any team medics and corner buddies interested in learning how to do it right can Join the club at Corner-Tech.com!
